The Egyptian Ministry of Interior announced the arrest of a number of fraudsters who deluded citizens and seized their money under the pretext of investing in Bitcoin.
A statement by the ministry on the merits of the case indicated that “the accused, who is a resident of the Fifth Settlement Police Department in Cairo, defrauded and defrauded a number of people and seized sums of money from them, claiming to invest and invest them in Bitcoin in return for agreed profits, but he did not fulfill that.”
She added, “The money seized by the accused amounted to 20 million pounds, and he pledged to pay those profits for periods of time, then he refused to pay or return the principal amounts, in participation with a number of people including a woman who was held in pretrial detention pending a case.”
The Interior Ministry indicated that the security forces have arrested the first accused, and 4 others who worked with him, while search is still underway to arrest the fugitive suspects.
