The Prisons Authority of the Ministry of Interior inside Burj Al Arab Prison in Alexandria executed death sentences against 11 prisoners convicted of criminal cases, and the bodies were transferred to the Kom al-Dikka morgue in preparation for delivery to their families for burial.
The death sentences were carried out in the presence of the leaders of Burj Al Arab prison, a member of the Public Prosecution Office, a forensic doctor, and a representative of the Endowment Authority.
A security source said that after the end of all the cases of litigation for the convicts, the judgments became final and enforceable.
The source added that the executor had the right to be executed “in cases of murder associated with theft and arson.”
The source pointed out that among those executed with the right to death is a butcher who killed his wife and his children, in addition to the murderer of his mother by smashing her head and then setting her body on fire, and another killed his sister’s freed brother using an automatic weapon and shot a number of people, killing one person and wounding others.
And the source added that the rest of the executioners committed such cases.
