Egyptians are following the latest developments in the Giza real estate fire, especially as it caused a traffic crisis as it was on the highway around Cairo.
The “Al-Ahram Gate” website reported that the Public Prosecution began an investigation into the property known in the media as “Ring Road Real Estate” at a time when the Civil Protection Forces continue to carry out cooling operations, while the Traffic Department closed the ring road in both directions for the third day in a row.
The newspaper pointed out that the preliminary investigations revealed that the residential property consists of 14 floors, each floor includes 9 apartments, and that it is built without a permit on an area of 1000 square meters.
The investigations stated that among the 108 apartments is the number of units in the property, only 15 apartments are inhabited, and the rest have yet to be sold.
A committee of specialists at the Faculty of Engineering at Cairo University recommended removing the property if it did not collapse by itself, and the committee stated that the property will be inspected after the fire is extinguished to decide whether there is a risk of residents returning to it or not, “However, until yesterday, the committee was unable to inspect the property due to To continue to catch fire. “
The committee emphasized that “in the event that the property does not fall and the concrete pillars are eroded from the fire, it will be removed for fear of its collapse.”
For its part, the Civil Protection Forces in Giza evacuated 3 properties adjacent to the property in which the fire is located, and security men in Giza imposed a security cordon around the burning property at a distance of several meters, and prevented approaching it, and imposed a cordon around a number of neighboring properties to evacuate residents.
The fire caused a severe traffic crisis on the highway, a peripheral road around Greater Cairo that was built to connect the governorates of Greater Cairo.
