The Egyptian Minister of Health, Hala Zayed, announced that 11 million 33,255 women have been examined since the launch of the Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s initiative to support women’s health.
Zayed indicated that the initiative began in July of last year, as it includes examination and awareness-raising to take care of public health for all women, free of charge.
The Egyptian Minister of Health stated that the initiative is sustainable and targets women nationwide, starting from the age of 18, and includes detection of non-communicable diseases (diabetes, blood pressure, weight and height measurement, determination of body mass index, level of obesity or overweight), and awareness of risk factors. Causing non-communicable diseases, in addition to awareness of reproductive health, family planning, healthy living, and awareness of the method of breast self-examination.
