The Egyptian General Ahmed Rajai Attia, one of the symbols of the Thunderbolt in the October War and founder of the 777th Division, died Thursday evening at the age of 83.
The Egyptian website Al-Watan reported that the deceased “worked to establish the Thunderbolt School and the Thunderbolt Training Center in Algeria, and participated in the war of attrition, and carried out dozens of operations behind enemy lines, in addition to his participation in the October War.”
The deceased received the Order of the Military Star, the Order of the Republic, duty, training, courage twice, and a good example.
Rajaei has worked in the field of education since the 1990s, founded the Egyptian Culture Association, and has written many poems.
