A Libyan security source confirmed that the Tobruk Security Directorate, in cooperation with the Libyan National Army, launched an operation to liberate a number of Egyptian citizens kidnapped by a criminal gang in Al-Barda area, east of Tobruk.
The Libyan source pointed out to the Egyptian website Al-Youm Al-Sabea that the Tobruk Security Directorate is launching an extensive security campaign to pursue all criminal gangs, after repeated incidents of kidnapping foreigners in recent months, explaining that the security forces are fully alert until all Egyptian citizens are liberated.
And the people of a group of youths from Al-Fabrika area in the city of Baba, south of the Egyptian governorate of Beni Suef, confirmed that 10 of them had been kidnapped inside the Libyan borders.
A relative of the kidnappers said that his daughter’s husband had traveled to Libya through a microbus owned by a person from the Baba center, indicating that they had received the news of the kidnapping of the ten young men who were inside the microbus.
He added that the kidnappers demanded an amount of one hundred thousand pounds for each young man to be released. Abdul Hakim’s uncle added that the kidnapped husband of his daughter married about a month ago his daughter and then traveled to Libya 20 days after marriage.
Another relative of one of the kidnapped said that his cousin, Mohamed Ezzat, was subjected to a kidnapping operation in Libya after he traveled with a group of youths via a minibus driven by a resident of a village belonging to the Baba center.
While the families of the kidnapped confirmed that the microbus driver told them that the youth had been subjected to a kidnapping operation inside the country of Libya, and that the kidnappers contacted him and demanded that their families be informed of paying 100,000 pounds for each young man.
A resident of the city of Baba said: “We were surprised by the news of the kidnapping of a group of young men from the villages and city center of Baba within the Libyan territories and their demand for a ransom amounting to 100,000 pounds for each of these young men. And to travel in search of a living. ” And he called on deputies of the department to “move quickly and make contacts at the highest level and as much as you can in order to preserve the lives of those innocent people and restore happiness and tranquility to their families.”
The pioneers of social networking sites “Facebook” circulated publications stating that a group of young people from the city of Baba had been kidnapped inside the Libyan territories while traveling to Libya via a minibus from the city of Baba.
