NEW YORK, USA (CNN) – Elon Musk wants to chat with Russian President Vladimir Putin on his favorite new social media app: Clubhouse.
On Saturday, the chief executive of Tesla sent a tweet to the Kremlin’s official Twitter account asking whether the Russian president would like to join him in a conversation on the audio-only app.
Musk wrote in his tweet, “Would you like to join me for a chat on the Clubhouse?” Then he followed it with another Russian-language tweet in which he wrote: “It is a great honor to talk to you.”
The Kremlin has not responded to Musk’s request yet. It is unclear if there is any interest on Putin’s part to talk to the tech billionaire. The Kremlin presidential office did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Putin is not the only public figure Musk invited to chat. Musk recently tweeted that he and billionaire rapper Kanye West are scheduled to appear on the podium, but he has yet to announce any dates for the duo’s meeting on the “Clubhouse” platform.
Musk’s move comes shortly after the CEO first appeared on the popular social chat app, which can be accessed by private invitation only. Musk’s chat on the app included various topics from funny “memes” to cryptocurrencies, and even a surprise discussion with Robin Hood CEO Vlad Teneff, after the recent “Game Stop” frenzy.
