Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid continues to set records while his team is in the prime of the season. In the Miami Heat’s home win (109-98), Embiid recorded 32 points and 12 rebounds. His performance in the second half, where he had 25 of his points, helped him join Harden in the league record book.
With his performance yesterday, the Cameroonian has scored 30 points or more in 10 consecutive away games, which is the longest streak in the NBA since Harden in the 2018-19 season. Tracy McGrady also got it in the 2002-03 season with the Orlando Magic. The center was impressed by the record, but the Sixers are winning games and he made it clear that’s all he cares about.
“I’m just focused. We have an objective, a goal. I want to win and we will do everything to win. Every night, that’s my mindset. Just go into the match and try to get a win to climb back up the leaderboard,” Embiid said.
With the win over the Miami Heat, the 76ers are now 25-17 and have settled into fifth place in the Eastern Conference. Embiid has put behind him the physical problems he had at the beginning of the season and the Sixers have become even with the best teams. They are only 2.5 games behind the Chicago Bulls, who so far are the team to beat in the East.
“Even if we don’t have all our players available, we have to go out there and compete.Embiid said.“That’s what we did on Friday and what we did tonight. We need to build on that and get back to having another winning streak.», concluded the leader of the Sixers.
