A group of documents related to the network of American billionaire and businessman Jeffrey Epstein – who committed suicide in prison in 2019 before being tried for sexual crimes – revealed the involvement of prominent figures, including women believed to be his victims, and others suspected of colluding with him.
Last month, US Judge Loretta Preska ruled that the documents, which include the names of more than 170 people who were either partners, friends or victims of Epstein, must be published.
Among these people, numbering between 150 and 180 and whose names appear on thousands of pages, are politicians, royals, businessmen, lawyers and artists.
This revelation comes within the framework of a defamation lawsuit filed by American Virginia Giuffre against Epstein and his former lover and partner, Ghilaine Maxwell, who is the daughter of Robert Maxwell, the owner of the British media empire.
Maxwell, who holds British, French, and American nationalities and is considered one of the prominent faces of the celebrity community, was arrested in New York In December 2021, she was charged with sexually trafficking minors on behalf of Epstein, and was sentenced in June 2022 to 20 years in prison.
Notable names
The documents showed the names of a number of prominent figures who were in a relationship with Epstein and visited his private island, including:
- British Prince Andrew
One of the girls, Joanna Sjoberg, who worked for Epstein, accused British Prince Andrew of sexually assaulting her three times in 2001 when she was 17 years old in London, New York, and the British Virgin Islands.
However, the 62-year-old prince, who was stripped of his titles after the case, denied the accusations against him.
But he reached a consensual agreement to pay her $13 million, according to the Daily Telegraph, which spared him a civil trial in New York.
- Alan Dershowitz
A former Harvard law professor known for his work in American criminal law, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has appointed him to represent Israel before the International Court of Justice next week.
The documents related to him include allegations made by an unnamed woman, referred to as “Jane Doe No. 3,” who said that Epstein “asked” her to have sexual relations with Dershowitz on multiple occasions while she was a minor.
Epstein’s housekeeper testified that Dershowitz frequently visited Epstein’s Florida mansion to get massages.
Dershowitz said – in an interview with Fox News last Wednesday – that “Jane Doe No. 3” misidentified him, and he denied ever meeting her. He pointed out that he was a victim of the “hypocrisy” of the “Me Too” movement, and accused “extremist feminists” of focusing on Epstein and his associates without “condemning Hamas” for what it did on October 7th.
In her testimony, Joanna Sjoberg denied meeting the former Israeli prime minister Ehud Barak During her time with Epstein.
Last spring, Barrack admitted to the Wall Street Journal that he had been communicating with Epstein in New York, but claimed that he had never met the businessman “with girls, minors, or even adult women in an inappropriate context or behavior.”
The late physicist was named in an email Epstein sent to Maxwell in January 2015, in which he asked Maxwell to “make gifts” to Giuffre’s friends, family and acquaintances to refute Giuffre’s allegations against him. Stephen Hawking.
It was reported in the electronic papyrus that Hawking participated in group sex parties with young girls.
Sjoberg said she saw the late singer at Epstein’s house, and when asked if she had given him a massage, she said no.
The former US President was also mentioned Bill Clinton In court documents.
While Sjoberg said she had not met Clinton, she testified that Epstein told her that “Clinton likes them young,” apparently referring to girls. While Giuffre had previously stated that Clinton and Epstein had a close relationship, she did not accuse him of any illegal action.
Clinton repeatedly rejected all allegations that he was involved in anything illegal, and said he had no contact with Epstein for several years.
The former US president was also mentioned Donald Trump In the documents but he was not charged.
Sjoberg recalled an incident when she left with Epstein and Giuffre on a plane from Palm Beach, Florida, in 2001.
When the plane was unable to land in New York due to a storm, they had to land in Atlantic City and went to one of Trump’s casinos.
- David Copperfield
Sjoberg testified to meeting American magician David Copperfield at one of Epstein’s homes, and added that she noticed that he was a friend of Epstein. I also remembered a girl at that dinner who I thought looked like she was high school age.
Sjoberg said Copperfield asked her if she knew “girls get paid to find other girls,” referring to Epstein and Maxwell recruiting women to be “massage therapists.”
More names
Not all documents have been revealed, and the American judge has not set a date for publishing more lists, but it is believed that more will be published in the coming days.
