The Turkish president said Recep Tayyip Erdogan In the last 12 months until October, the country’s exports amounted to $254.8 billion, indicating that exports recorded a new record last month, as they increased by 7.4% compared to the same month of the previous year and reached $22.9 billion.
This came in a speech on Friday at the “Innovalig Champions” awards ceremony (a program for developing innovation in Turkey), at the Gulf Convention Center in Istanbul.
Erdogan expressed his pride in all the companies that contribute to production, employment and export in Turkey.
He pointed out that the regular increase in the number of companies applying to the Innovation Development Program every year shows that the culture of innovation is beginning to take root in the business world.
Erdogan pointed out that Turkey’s annual exports were only $36.1 billion in 2002 when the Justice and Development Party came to power.
He noted that Turkey is third in export growth among OECD countries in terms of the speed of increase in exports.
He pointed out that despite all the difficulties and problems at the global level, Turkey’s exports continue their upward trend.
Erdogan stressed that increasing exports in terms of numbers is important, but the focus during the coming period must be on increasing quality as well.
