Bam Adebayo is back in action. After missing up to 22 games due to a ruptured ulnar collateral ligament in his right thumb, the center returned to the court in Miami’s last game against Toronto, which ended in a 104-99 victory.
Already counting on the return of the center, Erik Spoelstra tells how important the return of his pupil is, who is averaging 18.5 points and 10.1 rebounds in 32.8 minutes per night this season.
“Just on the human side, it’s already great to have him back. He was so anxious and excited, he’s almost been beside himself for the last week. Then you can see his energy on the court. He makes us different. That’s probably the most important thing it brings. We’re talking about that rare versatility that makes us different at both ends of the floor. His pace will get better, but it was certainly great to have him back in the mix.” head coach of the Florida organization.
In his first game after a month and a half without playing, he had 14 points and 9 rebounds with 4 of 12 shooting from the field. Of course he has to get back into the rhythm of the game, but this is just one more boost for the Heat who, despite being without him for a long time, are currently second in the Eastern Conference with 28-16.
