‘Escape From Tarkov’ Twitch Drops Set To Return For Winter Wipe

Battlestate Games has announced a new Twitch Drops campaign for Escape From Tarkov to celebrate the winter wipe that is expected to launch in the next few days.

The new Twitch Drops campaign was announced earlier today on the official Escape From Tarkov social media accounts, and promises some free in game items to get your wipe started. The Twitch Drops are due to start on December 30, 2024 and will run until January 8, 2025, hopefully giving you enough time to earn a lot of free in game items.

The Escape From Takrov Twitch Drops will get started at 1 PM GMT / 8 AM EST on December 30, 2024, and will run until 1 PM GMT / 8 AM EST on January 8, 2025. During this time you will be able to earn in game items by watching streamers on Twitch who are playing Tarkov.

However, once again it is not the case that all streamers will have drops all the time. Any streamers who want to participate in the drops will need to sign up and select two time periods where they will have drops on their streams. This means you can’t just AFK on one person’s stream for a week and get a ton of items. As we get closer to the start of the Twitch Drops campaign, streamers will likely start to announce when they have drops active, so you can play who to watch and when.

Another returning feature is the fact that streamers’ performance in game will dictate how good your drops if. If the collective group who have drops manage to complete some in game goals, then the drops for the next day will be of a higher quality. While there is never any guarantee what items you will get from the drops, the announcement has said there is a chance to get rare items such as bitcoin, graphics cards, and some of the new weapons that are being added in the 0.16 patch.

The timing of the drops suggests that the Tarkov winter wipe will launch this week, likely on December 26, given that there are usually a few days for bugs to be fixed before the Twitch Drops kick off.

There will also be another Twitch Drops campaign for Escape From Tarkov Arena, which has just had some drops end after a free weekend. These drops will start on January 4 and run until January 8.

How To Get Escape From Tarkov Twitch Drops

To get Escape From Tarkov Twitch Drops, there are a few things you need to do before they start to make sure you are eligible to get them. The most important thing is to make sure you own a copy of Tarkov, and have linked your Tarkov, and Twitch accounts. To do this, you need to head to the Escape From Tarkov website and select the Twitch linking option.

Once you have linked your two accounts, you will need to wait until the drops start, and then tune into an Escape From Tarkov stream that has drops enabled. Drops will be given out at guaranteed intervals, but you will likely need to claim them in the Twitch inventory system after they have unlocked.
