Sydney Sweeney is preparing for an emotional farewell as she concludes filming for the third season of HBO’s “Euphoria.”
Speaking at Variety’s Power of Women ceremony in Los Angeles, where she was honored on Wednesday, the actress revealed she was about to shoot her final scenes for the show.
“It’s gonna be a really bittersweet moment,” Sweeney said. “I’m kind of terrified for how emotional it’s gonna be. It’s been such a journey.”
Sweeney, who was 20 when she filmed the pilot and is now 28, described the cast and crew as her “family and friends for so long,” adding, “I’ve been forever grateful for all of them.”
While plot details are under wraps, “Euphoria” Season 3 is slated for a spring 2026 release and will feature new cast members, including Trisha Paytas, Natasha Lyonne, Danielle Deadwyler, and Eli Roth. Co-star Jacob Elordi has praised creator Sam Levinson’s work on the upcoming season, calling it “incredibly clever and cinematic” and a “liberating” experience as an actor.
Sweeney’s upcoming projects include the boxing biopic “Christy,” in which she will portray champion Christy Martin, and a “Barbarella” remake for Sony that she will star in and executive produce.
With original “Barbarella” star Jane Fonda also attending the Power of Women event, Sweeney expressed her eagerness to connect with the screen legend about the remake. “If you see us in a corner the entire time,” she joked, “just know I’m asking absolutely everything.”
