Political analysts said that Israel is carrying out mass revenge against civilians in Gaza strip To respond to its failure to achieve its military goals due to the resistance’s response.
Political analyst Oraib Rantawi said that what the occupying state is currently doing in Gaza is completely consistent with its long history of taking revenge on civilians, and at the same time it confirms that it has been given a green light to kill from the United States and major European countries.
Al-Rantawi added in the program “Gaza…What Next?”, that the Arab position does not rise to the level of what is happening in Gaza and the position Palestinian Authority Which is considered the most absent from the scene, all of which prompted Israel to practice its policy of revenge against civilians without fear, according to him.
In this context, political analyst Muhannad Mustafa said that among Israel’s undeclared goals is revenge against Gaza as a whole, which appears clear in the political and popular discourse that places Gaza, including its civilians and military personnel, in the category of the condemned and deserving of punishment.
In addition, Israeli society suffers from the absence of a state of war ethics that must separate between civilian and military, which is fueled by media discourses, according to Mustafa, who pointed out that an Israeli expert said that Tel Aviv must “practice collective punishment because Gaza has 2.2 million terrorists.”
Not only that, the same speaker adds, referring to a comment by an Israeli journalist who said, “The people of Gaza are not like us because they are animals and we are humans.”
As for the head of the Euro-Mediterranean Center for Human Rights in Geneva, Rami Abdo, he said that the occupation is exerting sadistic pressure on the residents of Gaza until it pushes them to turn against the resistance, adding, “This is not something new, but it has been practiced for years.”
Abdo stressed that killing a child every 7 minutes and bombing hospitals and bakeries cannot be considered apart from these sadistic practices that confirm that Israel, the army and people, are committing structural crimes with the support of the international community with all its components.
Arab movement
Regarding Jordan recalling its ambassador from Tel Aviv and the Egyptian government opening the Rafah land crossing, Al-Rantawi said that they are two steps in the right direction, but they were long overdue and limited, stressing that they came as a result of the sacrifices and resistance made by the people of Gaza over the course of 26 days of facing death everywhere.
In addition, the popular situation played a role in pushing for these two steps, according to Al-Rantawi, who said that the danger lies in what is coming; Because Israel’s victory in Gaza today means that it will be the rest of the countries’ turn. Stressing that Palestine is the first line of defense for the entire Arab nation.
But Al-Rantawi believes that the next two days are the most dangerous in this war because they will witness major developments in Gaza and the West Bank, and the spark of fighting may spread to other countries, as he put it.
On the other hand, Muhannad Mustafa believes that the steps of the Arab countries do not mean real pressure on Israel, because the Arab regimes do not reject what the latter is doing in Gaza in one way or another, according to him.
Mustafa stressed that Israeli public opinion does not believe that Arab governments are acting under pressure from their streets, but rather, “they believe that they do not reject what Israel is doing.”
It is likely that Israel will be forced to back down from the crimes it is committing in Gaza, as a result of the increasing internal pressure on the Israeli government due to the prisoners’ issue on the one hand, and fear of the expected high prices for entering Gaza on the other hand.
Mustafa pointed out that support for the field sciences in the Israeli street declined according to a Maariv newspaper poll last October 27, from 65 to 49%, and this is due to the large interaction with the prisoners’ file.
Therefore, the influence on Israel’s position – in Mustafa’s opinion – is internal or through a change in American support for the war, while the Arab influence will only come through radical changes in the positions of countries.
