The company “Facebook” said that the feature of the pop-up messages will promote the benefits of its targeted ads on the “iPhone” and “iPad”.
The “Facebook” announcement came before Apple’s privacy move, which could limit data tracking.
The spat between the two companies flared up last week after the CEO of Apple indicated that Facebook’s business model was promoting disinformation and violence.
“As we have repeatedly said, we believe that Apple is acting in an uncompetitive manner by using its control over the application store, in order to support its profits at the expense of application developers and small companies,” Facebook told “AFP.”
The two tech giants have disagreed about upcoming changes to Apple’s operating system, which would include a feature that Facebook claims could cripple its ability to display targeted ads and harm many companies.
One of the features of the new “Apple” programs, referred to as the “privacy feed”, includes a feature that informs people about the tracking data that mobile applications collect, and asks permission to allow it to do so, according to Agence France-Presse.
Facebook said in a blog post on the topic: “To help people make a more informed decision, we also display our own screen, along with an Apple screen that will provide more information about how we use ads that support small businesses and keep apps free.” .
