A 6-alarm fireplace that engulfed a Massachusetts church just several hours following Easter Sunday service was under investigation, fireplace officers reported.
The blaze began soon before 5:30 p.m. ET on Sunday at Faith Lutheran Church in Cambridge, a city across the Charles River from Boston. The church carried out an Easter Sunday mass just hours before, beginning at 10 a.m.
The church was empty when the fireplace commenced and no 1 was hurt, the Cambridge Hearth Office documented.
The cause and origin of the fireplace was under investigation, fireplace officers mentioned.
The fireplace burned overnight into Monday morning. On Monday morning, hearth and police officials remained on scene and many sidewalks and streets were shut in the place.
