SHERMAN, TX (KOKH) — Sherman Police in Texas are looking for an 8-year-old after a family traveling from Durant, Oklahoma to Sherman, Texas got into an accident on Christmas Eve morning.
The Sherman Police Department said the crash happened at Highway 75 and Taylor Street.
The vehicle left the roadway on Highway 75, got trapped in a drainage ditch, and traveled down the creek toward Houston.
The occupants had to be rescued from the vehicle.
One person died and an 8-year-old girl was missing from the vehicle.
Sherman Police continued their search efforts for the child through Christmas.
Thursday, Dec. 26 marked the third day of searches.
Police said dozens of search teams were deployed.
