Hold on tight! Father builds a theme park with 25 attractions in his own backyard and it’s made his kids (and probably his) dreams come true
- Glenn Calvert bought five hectares of land in Gippsland, Victoria for theme park
- He was inspired following trip to WA and wanted to build his own attraction site
- Now known as Adventure Fun Park sits on his land and boasts 25 exciting rides
- But after 30 years, Mr Calvert wants to retire and move closer to his children
- The home and the theme park are for sale for a whopping $2,300,000
A family who built a theme park in their massive backyard are now handing the controls over to a new owner.
Glenn Calvert was told he was ‘crazy’ when he bought five hectares in Gippsland, Victoria, to build his family a theme park.
But after being inspired by seeing an archery range of a trip to Western Australia, Mr Calvert knew it would give him more time with his children.
From that small archery range, the Adventure Fun Park has grown to 25 attractions in just a few years.

The exciting games include karts, mini golf, laser tag, archery, jumping castles, a merry-go-round, batting cages set up for cricket or baseball, and a swimming pool.
‘You won’t find all this anywhere else in the world,’ Mr Calvert told realcommercial.com.au.
But after 30 years, Mr Calvert and his wife Laurel, both in their 60s, want to sell the theme park attached to their home to move closer to family.
‘Plus the kids are all grown up, and we have had enough fun,’ he said.
‘It’s the best job in the world, but after 30 years they have had enough fun – and it’s now time to retire’

The theme park had a busy summer as people look to move away from Melbourne following the lockdowns
The entire area along with the house is for sale at $2,300,000 (pictured: the theme park for sale)
The area is for sale at a whopping $2,300,000 which could be easily repaid thanks to the theme park.
With the theme park’s operating hours ranging from 10am-5pm seven days a week, one could make 70 per cent of their salary in just 70 days.
Mr Calvert said this is thanks to the forever changing equipment and Melbournians moving from the city after the Covid lockdowns.
The house is a comfortable three bedroom home with a spa, swimming pool, ensuite, a large garage, office and a workshop.
It also has a studio to operate a second business if required for the new owners.
