Mile High City on top of the world! Fans go wild on the streets of Denver and set off fireworks to celebrate Nuggets’ first ever NBA title triumph
Denver Nuggets fans brought the city to a standstill on Monday night as they took to the streets with fireworks to celebrate their first ever NBA championship.
While the players partied in the locker room, supporters clearly did not want to head home and instead carried their jubilation out onto the streets close to Ball Arena.
Videos from Denver 7 News showed the wild scenes in the city, as a helicopter flew overhead and took in the surroundings.
At one point, a large circle was cleared for fireworks to be set off, before fans took it in turns to jump through the smoke and fire in dangerous scenes.
It was reported that toilet paper was thrown around the city, as fans stood on cars and climbed lampposts to get a better view of the celebrations.

The incredible scenes were sparked by a 94-89 win for the Denver Nuggets over the Miami Heat, taking them to an unassailable 4-1 lead in the best-of-seven Finals series.
Nikola Jokic was once again the star man for the Nuggets, who dominated the playoffs – leading in points, rebounds and assists.
‘It was and ugly and we couldn’t make shots, but at the end we figured it out,’ Jokic said. ‘I am just happy we won the game.’
The Serbian was also unanimously voted the NBA Finals MVP in the aftermath of the win, and brought his young daughter with him to lift the trophy.
