Farmer saves residence from flooding by creating wall out of ANIMAL DUNG

A farmer desperate to ‘save his home’ from flooding resorted to constructing a barricade of animal dung, but his neighbours have shared their fears about water contamination.

Tommy Cannon made the decision to improvise when heavy rain prompted a stream to burst its financial institutions and despatched water hurrying down his street near Dumfries, Scotland, on December 30.

The 38-year-old farm worker promises he could not generate to town for sandbags so as a substitute employed manure from work to ‘save his household from being flooded’.

‘We had a seriously hefty downpour and inside an hour I could see water swelling up around my home and my garage commenced to flood. If I hadn’t performed this my home would undoubtedly have flooded.

‘I realise there is certainly a large amount of persons who will say it can be irresponsible, but with the amount of h2o likely down the highway it would have been very well diluted and no one would discover a point.’

Tommy Cannon, who lives close to Dumfries in Scotland defended his steps towards critics 

Tommy defined that his location faced four inches of rain in 12 hrs and statements he cleaned all the things up by 10.30am the next early morning.

The farmer declares the dung is back again in storage and his drive has been washed just before inquiring if there was anything else disgruntled farmer Dan would like him to do.

Tommy says the rain died off throughout the working day but the h2o ongoing to stream down his street till New Year’s Eve early morning when he cleaned up.

A third stated: ‘If the location was flooding, the drinking water would have reached the muck and experienced the similar effect anyway!’

Even so farmer Dan mentioned: ‘What a k***. Then [he] issues why the Natural environment Company is pounding the door. It is idiots like that that make so a great deal red tape for everyone else.’

Another agreed and claimed: ‘Surprised the surroundings company hasn’t been onto them for contamination of water!’

A person joked: ‘That flood defence is a load of s***.’

Yet another additional: ‘Bit of a s*** place to be in.’

The Scottish Surroundings Defense Company confirmed there has been no grievance pertaining to the incident and declined to comment further more.
