New South Wales has recorded its first community transmission of COVID-19 in 13 days, after a man, 45, tested positive.
Health Minister Brad Hazzard on Wednesday confirmed one new infection had been reported in the past 24 hours.
The man, who works as a van driver transporting international and airline crew back and forth to the airport, developed symptoms on Saturday.
He was tested on Tuesday and returned a positive result at 7am Wednesday.
‘Obviously we may be an island but we are not totally isolated from the we are not totally isolated from the pandemic that is raging across the world,’ Mr Hunt said.
