Federal, state and Caintra governments unanimously endorse companies participating in the El Cuchillo II aqueduct

Monterey, NL. Governor of Nuevo Leon Samuel Garcia Sepulveda announced that together with National Water Comission and the Chamber of the Transformation Industry of Nuevo León, unanimously endorsed the companies that will participate in the work, which will start this Friday, September 2, with an estimated investment of 10,440 million pesos.

“We are going to start the El Cuchillo II aqueduct on September 2, I want to thank all the authorities involved: With water, Banobras, Sedena and Monterrey Water and Drainage Services”.

The Transformation Industry Chamber of Nuevo León participated as “guarantee and social witness,” said the state president.

“And above all, I want to thank the companies in Nuevo León that are going to carry out a project that was forgotten for 26 years. This aqueduct is going to bring us an extra 5,000 liters per second, so that there will not be a (water) crisis again, as previous governments left it, pointed out the state president, after leading the first session of the Social Participation Committee of the El Cuchillo II aqueduct. .

He stressed that although the process of this work could take between 3 and 4 years, they will build it, as President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said, between 8 and 10 months.

First, the basic studies to support the work and executive project of the El Cuchillo II aqueduct will be contracted, and later the pipes and pumping equipment for the project will be acquired.

On the other hand, the governor stressed that they are close to reaching the goal, which is the average consumption of 16,000 liters per second. To date, 13,400 liters per second are supplied to the metropolitan area.

“In May it was the worst crisis since they did nothing about the water issue. In June, a city that consumes 16,000 reached 6,000 liters per second, a third, the entire city suffered, we have worked hard, we are 1,500 liters per second from the goal, which is 16,000 liters per second,” García Sepúlveda stressed.
