To compensate for the infrastructure damage caused by the earthquakes of September 19 and 22, 2022, the Federation provided an amount of 942.2 million pesos to rehabilitate homes, commercial premises and highways in Michoacán and Colima, reported the governor, Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla.
This Sunday, the state president announced the total amount of resources available to the Federation to address the damage.
He said that Michoacán was assigned 215.7 million pesos to rebuild its establishments and homes, while 286.9 million were allocated to the attention of Michoacán federal and state highways.
“There is interest from the Federation to address social priorities and, above all, to the people who lost their heritage in the municipalities of Aquila, Coalcomán, Coahuayana and Chinicuila (…) The Mexican government has not limited itself in the allocation of resources to support the victims and the vulnerable population”, he explained.
It should be noted that the Damage Assessment Committee focused on analyzing the municipalities of Apatzingán, Aquila, Coahuayana, Coalcomán and Chinicuila, in order to achieve the Natural Disaster Declaration by the federal government and access resources.
According to information from the state government, about 5,287 affected houses were registered, in addition, the files of affected micro and small businessmen were integrated, from which more than 130 requests from the Private Initiative were added to receive support for groceries, food sales, crafts, pharmacies and services, mainly.
33 roads damaged by the earthquake were also identified, as well as 243 basic, upper secondary and higher level institutions with moderate or serious damage, of which 26 were reported in Coalcomán, 61 in Coahuayana, 19 in Chinicuila, 57 in Aquila and 79 in Apatzingan.
In addition, in the entity there were three medical units with major damage, they are the Maruata Hospital, the Aquila Health Center and the Apatzingán General Hospital, at the same time, there are 11 hospitals with minor damage.
Delivery of supports
Ramírez Bedolla recalled that on December 1, the Michoacán Welfare Secretariat delivered financial support to families affected by the earthquakes in Aquila.
502 economic supports were delivered to the same number of affected families, with an investment of more than 1.5 million pesos.
These are 114 families belonging to the town of Motín del Oro, 259 from Colola, 56 from Paso de Noria, 49 from Las Haciendas, eight from Faro de Bucerías, three from Maruata, 2 from Valdovinos, two from Pómaro, two from the campaigns, one from Cama de Agua, one from Chicuasa, one from El Coire, one from Cobígenes, one from Los Parajes and one from San Juan de Alima.
