Over four days, from Wednesday, December 8 to Saturday, December 11, with two locations in Bahía de Banderas and Tepic, the Festival of Letters in Tepic from Nayarit in its sixth edition, after the year was held virtually, it will meet again with the reading public and with the cultural, traditional and gastronomic diversity of the entity in the north of the country.
It will be a meeting to highlight as the closing of the face-to-face publishing promotion of the year in the country, with the face-to-face participation of authors such as Margo Glantz, Ave Barrera, Enrique Serna, Socorro Venegas, Silvia Molina, Alberto Ruy Sánchez and Xavier Velasco, as well as virtual feathers such as Carmen Boullosa, Cristina Rivera Garza, Juan Villoro and Guillermo Arriaga.
This was announced on Tuesday morning by the director of the meeting, Lorena Elizabeth Hernández, at a press conference from the Rosario Castellanos Bookstore in Mexico City, accompanied by the writer Alberto Ruy Sánchez, the director of Social Communication of the Secretary of Culture federal, Isaac Macip; the director of the National Theater Company, Enrique Singer; the writer and journalist Ezra Alcázar, representing the Economic Cultural Fund (FCE), and Itzel González Acosta, Director of Communication for Bahía de Banderas, Nayarit.
For the start of the editorial meeting, which this year won the support of the Profest call, granted by the federal government, on Wednesday afternoon, in Bahía de Banderas, the work “Spoken portrait”, written by Juan Villoro, will be presented. Directed by Arturo Beristáin and with the acting work of the National Theater Company, about the life and work of Ramón López Velarde. The first function will be this Wednesday at five in the afternoon at said venue.
Among the vast offer of the festival, in addition to the one already mentioned, the director highlighted the return of the reading galas by the participating writers of each day, a hallmark of the meeting, as well as the presentation of the play “ Fresh Waters ”, by the Mascarilla Teatro company, from Tepic; the conference by Margo Glantz, called “The conquest of writing and Sor Juana”, one more by Carmen Boullosa in connection from New York and, finally, the installation of the correspondent of the Seminary of Mexican Culture in Nayarit, whose ceremony will be headed by the architect Felipe Leal, who will give a keynote address on architecture.

The presence of the FCE at the meeting, Ezra Alcázar explained, will be to make the free delivery of copies of the collection 21 for the 21 in both entities where the festival will be taking place.
Finally, Isaac Macip emphasized the decentralization of culture as one of the main occupations of the current administration and “this festival is an example of this,” he said, adding that the Letras Festival in Tepic from Nayarit will be a pretext for the presentation of cultural programs that have been developed in the entity, such as Alas y Raíces and the agreement between both parties for the inclusion of native languages in the meeting.
Another great project that the Ministry of Culture has been working on in Nayarit territory is the Center for Environmental and Cultural Education ‘Muros de Agua-José Revueltas’, whose principle is the decentralization of culture, “he added.
