The Indiana Fever signed point guard Kyra Lambert to a seven-day contract on Thursday, adding depth to a roster depleted by injuries. The move comes as the team navigates the continued absence of star rookie Caitlin Clark, who is sidelined with a right groin injury, and season-ending injuries to fellow point guards Sydney Colson and Aari McDonald.
Lambert is the second guard signed by the Fever in the past week to address the shortage, following the addition of Odyssey Sims on a hardship contract.
A 5-foot-9 guard, Lambert brings extensive international experience to Indiana. She has played professionally in Greece, France, Latvia, New Zealand, Slovakia, and Turkey. During this past season, she helped lead Olympiacos to a Greek A1 League championship, averaging 15.4 points, 6.2 assists, and 1.5 steals while shooting 42.1%.
During her collegiate career, Lambert played five seasons at Duke, where she overcame two separate ACL tears. The first injury occurred during the 2017 NCAA tournament, forcing her to miss the following season. After returning, she was named a preseason candidate for the Nancy Lieberman Award before suffering a second ACL tear during the preseason. She made a full recovery and started 21 of 30 games as a graduate student. Lambert finished her college career with a season at the University of Texas, where she averaged 7.0 points and 3.1 assists.
She will wear No. 15 for the Fever.
