Cairo- Today, Wednesday, the Egyptian journalist Yasser Rizk died at the age of 57 due to a sudden heart attack, as he had suffered during the past years from heart problems, and had previously performed “open heart” surgery in Germany.
Rizk’s name has emerged during the past years after he assumed the presidency of the board of directors of the Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation and the editor-in-chief of Al-Akhbar newspaper, which is considered with Al-Ahram and Al-Gomhouria newspapers, the most prominent government newspapers in Egypt.
Since graduating from the Faculty of Information, Cairo University in 1986, Rizk went through a busy career at the Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation, in which he worked for about a quarter of a century, and moved between its departments until he eventually settled to work as a military editor, as he was the youngest military editor in Egypt, according to the website of the seventh day, and then worked Delegate for the newspaper to the Egyptian presidency until 2005, and was appointed editor-in-chief of the state radio and television magazine.
After that, Rizk returned to Akhbar Al-Youm Foundation as news editor on January 18, 2011, a week before the outbreak of the “January Revolution” that toppled the late President Hosni Mubarak after 30 years in power, then moved to the private press in 2012, to take over the presidency Editing of Al-Masry Al-Youm newspaper.
After being chosen by the Board of Trustees of Al-Masry Al-Youm Foundation in 2012 as editor of its daily newspaper, he returned again to Akhbar Al-Youm in late 2013 to head its board of directors.
fifty years
Rizk was famous for publishing military unilateralism during the period of momentum and tensions that accompanied the January 2011 revolution, and then the period that followed it, led by the Military Council, which Mubarak handed over to power when he was forced to step down under the pressure of the revolution.
Later, the late journalist held a number of meetings with Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, while he was Minister of Defense and after assuming the position of President of the Republic, but his star faded over time and he no longer had the same former luster.
And at the beginning of this year, Yasser Rizk witnessed the publication of his latest book, “The Five Years…Between January of Anger and June of Salvation”, in which he documented the events during the period from January 2011 to June 2013, according to his personal story, which naturally sparked controversy and different impressions between Supporters and opponents of power.
The death of the Egyptian journalist sparked a wide wave of interaction on social networking sites in Egypt, between a critic of the “great writer” who stood up to the Muslim Brotherhood, and a critic of his long history of “compromising” the regime; From the late Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and his son Gamal, to the current President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.
Yasser Rizk was my batch and he was the best and most skilled. His hands were draped in silk. From his first year at university, he was writing good deeds, like any respected journalist. He was a journalist, just as his father was a journalist, and he was a military recruiter, just as his father was a combat soldier. If you ask about the professional journalist of my generation, he will be at the top of the list. May God have mercy on Yasser Rizk

I have known him since 1982, forty years completely and completely
Despite not meeting and the distance between us in the last 10 years
However, his voice rings in my ears and his kind words always follow me

The wrath of opponents
The opponents of the late journalist writer circulated excerpts from old articles, some of which praise Gamal Mubarak and his political and personal capabilities, and confirm his unwillingness to inherit the rule of Egypt from his father, and others confirm the existence of attempts to inherit Gamal Mubarak during his father’s era.
Some of them also circulated video clips in which they incite against the Muslim Brotherhood and their supporters, demand that they be treated like Nazis, and stand by the coup against the legitimate authority of the country, and one of them quoted his personal testimony about his agreement with other journalists to attack in their articles and writings on the late President Mohamed Morsi.
#Yasser_Rizk He demanded that the brothers be treated the same as Nazi Germany did
Uprooting the Brotherhood from the joints of the state and criminalizing belonging to them forever
When did he say this?
After paving the way for Sisi, he kills hundreds of brothers and others in the Rabaa massacre and its aftermath
Is he respectful of their death? No humanity?
I leave the comment for you pic.twitter.com/LqSJE9saNI

The death of the journalist #Yasser_Rizk
God bears witness that I saw him with my own eyes and heard him. He and Salah Joudeh agreed to attack Morsi with their writings and media appearances. I did not and will not belong to the Muslim Brotherhood, but Salah Joudeh died and Morsi followed him. Then today is the day of Yasser Rizk.
They went to their creator, the just king, and when God meets the opponents— ma7moud elfeel (@MahmoudElfeel15) January 26, 2022
Yasser Rizk, Ibrahim Saada, Abdullah Kamal, and others have always stood in the side of tyranny, and used their pens to support injustice and tyranny. Their articles testify to them, and their media interviews testify to them. They left successively, so what is the shortest life, but is it considered?

I refuse to finish #Yasser_Rizk His life with repentance or a return to the truth or a word of justice for those who wronged them, and he returned to the spotlight with a new book full of misinformation and slander and added to it a series of episodes of lying and fraud with the hypocrite Ahmed Musa, so God uprooted him from above the earth and took him suddenly, so praise be to God, the just avenger.
Oh God, treat him with your justice, not your mercy. pic.twitter.com/5Te9QDK8xl— The Egyptian Revolutionary Council (@ERC_egy) January 26, 2022
He was delusional to play the role of a structure with Nasser, and a few days ago he published a book entitled:
“The Fifty Years and the Painful January”
consider it #January revolution It’s a plot
And God wants it to be the end #Yasser_Rizk January 25
He gloats in death because we are all dead
And for everyone who conspired, cheered, and justified the shedding of forbidden blood, hoping for a near end
