Paris, March 14 (.).- Foreign investment projects in France increased by 32% last year in number to reach 1,607, which is a record figure also in terms of jobs, the Government announced on Monday.
These investments made it possible to create or maintain 45,008 jobs, an increase of 30%, the Executive stressed in a statement, which wanted to see in these figures the result of the labor and tax reforms launched since the arrival at the Elysee in 2017 of the president, Emmanuel Macron, who risks his renewal in the April elections.
Last year, Germany became the first country for the number of projects, with 18% of the total, ahead of the United States (15%), the United Kingdom (9%), Belgium (7%) and the Netherlands (6%). ).
However, US investments weighed more in terms of jobs (10,118), followed by Germany (8,063) and the UK (4,202).
The Minister of Economy and Finance, Bruno Le Maire, considered these results “excellent” and highlighted that France has been the most attractive country in Europe for foreign investment since 2019.
He attributed it to the labor reform, tax cuts and administrative simplification. “Attractiveness,” he affirmed, “is the barometer of our country’s good economic health.” The Government did not specify the amount of these investments.
