Former France national football team midfielder, Johan Cabaye, has announced his retirement at 35, as he has not signed any club since the end of his career with Saint-Etienne last summer.
The owner of 43 international matches wrote on his Twitter account: “With great emotion after more than 17 years of passion, passion for football, passionate emotions, memories always engraved in my imaginations, unforgettable human and sporting encounters, I announce to you the end of my career as a footballer. professional”.
After his prominence with Lille, Cabay moved between Newcastle, Paris, Saint-Germain, then Crystal Palace again in England, before a short trip with the Emirati victory, then Saint-Etienne.
The player, who was a candidate to move to the Major League Soccer, won the French League title three times, with Lille in 2011, and Saint-Germain in 2014 and 2015.
