He first announced his bout with coronavirus last week by posting a picture of himself on a ventilator.

‘On my 10th day in ICU, COVID-19 is officially kicking my but, I am asking ALL family, friends, prayer warriors healers for your prayers and well wish for my recovery,’ wrote Ceballos on September 7. ‘If I have done and anything to you in the past , allow me to publicly apologize.

‘My fight is not done….. Thank you.’

A week earlier, Ceballos announced that he was battling COVID-19, but resting at home. He previously canceled a charity golf event due to the infection on August 27.

Ceballos has not stated publicly whether or not he is vaccinated.

Ceballos will best be remembered for his blindfolded dunk in the 1992 dunk contest, which he won.

He last played in the NBA as a member of the Miami Heat in 2001, but has since played for the Harlem Globetrotters and overseas.
