Josh Thompson chose the Tigers over the Buckeyes.
On Friday, the former Northwestern offensive lineman committed to LSU over Ohio State. The 6-foot-5, 301-pound senior, who made 21 starts in his final two seasons with the Wildcats, had visited Columbus earlier this month.

A three-star recruit out of high school, Thompson developed into a high-level starter at Northwestern. According to Pro Football Focus, Thompson was tied for the 12th-best offensive lineman in the Big Ten this season with an overall grade of 74.9. He allowed zero sacks and six pressures in 402 pass-blocking snaps.
While Ohio State missed on Thompson, the Buckeyes have still had success recruiting offensive linemen from the transfer portal this winter. Ryan Day and Justin Frye landed commitments from former Minnesota tackle Phillip Daniels last week and former Rice tackle Ethan Onianwa on Tuesday.
