Fortnite is preparing to launch its annual Fortnitemares 2025 event, which will be introduced with the upcoming 37.40 update and require a period of server downtime.
Following a series of significant content additions, including the drivable Dino Megazord and the Daft Punk Experience, the focus now shifts to the game’s popular Halloween celebration. Leaks suggest this year’s Fortnitemares will be a substantial event, featuring more cosmetic items than ever before, a new variation of the Horde Mode, and a new Reload map for a faster-paced experience.
Server downtime for Fortnite update 37.40 is scheduled to begin at 1 a.m. PDT / 4 a.m. EDT / 9 a.m. BST on Thursday, October 2. Matchmaking will be disabled 30 minutes prior to the maintenance period. Based on recent update schedules, servers are expected to be back online in approximately one to two hours, around 3 a.m. PDT / 6 a.m. EDT / 11 a.m. BST.
While official patch notes have not been released, the Fortnite community Trello board has confirmed several bug fixes planned for the update:
Battle Royale / Blitz Royale / Reload / OG
- An issue preventing players from sprinting after using the Shockwave Hammer in mid-air will be resolved. Epic Games noted that swapping weapons is a temporary workaround.
Save the World
- A bug that stops the animation and prevents players from consuming mushrooms will be fixed.
