A man has been shot by police following an attack outside a synagogue in Crumpsall, Manchester, that left four people injured.
Greater Manchester Police were called to the Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation on Middleton Road at 9:31 am. A witness reported that a car had been driven towards members of the public and that one man had been stabbed.
Authorities declared a major incident at 9:37 am. One minute later, firearms officers shot a man believed to be the offender.
Paramedics arrived on the scene at 9:41 am and are treating four people for injuries caused by both the vehicle and stab wounds. The public has been asked to avoid the area while police continue to deal with the incident.
