LONDON, Nov 2 (Reuters) – Britain said on Tuesday that France has released a British scallop dredger seized last week in French waters near Le Havre, welcoming Paris’ decision to step back in the fisheries dispute between both countries.
Asked whether the ship Cornelis Gert Jan intercepted by the French authorities had been released, British Environment Minister George Eustice said: “Yes. I understand that ship has been released.”
“It is a decision of the French to abandon the threats that they previously made,” Eustice told the Sky news channel. “We are glad of it.”
