Speaking to BT Sport after the game Lampard said:Â ‘It’s not an easy game. We played well in patches and the result is key in these games. The Premier League is tough, relentless, and we dealt with the challenge of the game very well.
‘I won’t get excited about being top of the table for five minutes. It’s important to be humble and know it’s a long race.’

Many of Chelsea’s new signings have made a considerable impact, with Edouard Mendy, for instance, having settled in well in goal, while left-back Ben Chilwell is dependable defensively and also provided a threat going forwards.
Hakim Ziyech creates chances with regularity while Timo Werner makes intelligent runs, and the likes of Kai Havertz and Thiago Silva, who weren’t involved today, are also capable of making a major impact.
Lampard has a very talented squad at his disposal, with Chelsea possessing much quality in various positions, although, as he acknowledges, it is perhaps too early to be discussing whether they will win the Premier League.
Next weekend Chelsea host Tottenham in what will be a significant test, while Liverpool will be determined to defend their title and Manchester City certainly cannot be ruled out of contention.Â
