Fundación presents ebook on digital transformation for Latin America

The Information Society Foundation for the Americas presented the book “Digital Public Transformation in Latin America”.

The book, published in the city of Buenos Aires, brings together the vision of various specialists and civil organizations in the field of telecommunications and information technologies regarding how the public sector of the different Latin American countries could start its path towards digital transformation and for the benefit of the citizen.

“For the public sector, digitization and innovation present the opportunity to increase productivity, improve the efficiency of public spending, and generate savings in contexts of budgetary pressure. Digitization and innovation support the reduction of bureaucratic inefficiencies and risks of corruption, contribute to speeding up public management and allow redefining the relationship of public administrations with citizens and increase the trust and legitimacy of the public sector before society ”, they expose the authors of the book.

The work, presented in ebook format for free download, brings together research articles from Latin American references related to the digitization of the public sector, the so-called govtech and smart cities.

“The cross-border vision of digital transformation in the public sectors of Latin America and the Caribbean means working to deepen the digitalization of governments and the development of digital ecosystems with a common vision, but through specific strategies according to the needs and national and local contexts of our region”, add the presenters of the book.

The contents of the book were compiled by specialists Luis Papagni, Diego Bercholc and Alejandro Prince, and it was edited by the Information Society Foundation for the Americas.
