German magazine Der Spiegel said that the government is considering delivering artillery shells to Israel to support it in the fight against the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) in the ongoing war on Gaza strip.
The magazine reported, in its report published yesterday, Tuesday, that the concerned departments have already agreed in principle to meet the Israeli government’s request.
Last November, Berlin received a request to supply the Israeli army with about 10,000 120-millimeter precision-guided munitions.
The report stated that since the arms manufacturing sector cannot deliver the desired precision-guided munitions immediately, the authorities are considering the option of sending munitions from the German army’s stocks first in order to quickly respond to the request.
Reuters, which reported the report, said it was unable to obtain an immediate comment from a German government spokesman on what the German magazine reported.
