Data from the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases in Germany showed, today, Sunday, that the number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus in the country increased by 13,755 cases, and reached one million and 640,858 in total.

The institute stated that it recorded 356 deaths from the virus, which brings the total number of deaths in the country to 29,778.
According to the national plan, a comprehensive vaccination campaign against Corona will be launched in Germany today, December 27, with priority given to those over the age of 80, elderly care home staff, and members of medical teams who are most at risk of contracting the virus.
The vaccine produced by the American “Pfizer” company and the German “Biontech” will be approved.
On Saturday, elderly people in Halberstadt in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt received the vaccine, one day before the start of the nationwide vaccination.
Among these elderly people is Edith Koizala, 101, who received the vaccination at the Kruger Seniors Center.

Earlier, the European Commission expressed its hope that this comprehensive vaccination campaign against the virus would start on December 27-29.
European countries are scheduled to begin a comprehensive vaccination campaign on Sunday, among them Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Greece, Austria, Estonia, Lithuania, Poland and Bulgaria.
