For his part, Dr. Ahmed Al-Mandhari, Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean, said that the organization will sort out and set a timetable for strategic plans to implement the decisions issued by the 68th session and start implementing these decisions, according to the health systems of each country, explaining that it cannot be said that the world has passed the stage of danger, and it must be taken. For his part, Dr. Ali Muhammad Miftah Al-Zanati, the Libyan Minister of Health and Chairman of the 68th session of the Regional Committee, said that we seek to implement these decisions, and we care about the health of the mother and child and chronic diseases.

He said that the most important recommendations issued by the committee are tobacco control in the Eastern Mediterranean Region, as a result of the Corona virus and the lack of a fair distribution of vaccines, as well as emergency situations. To end the virus and increase access to coronavirus vaccines, reduce inequities and strengthen preventive health measures.
He added, the committee issued decisions to prevent diabetes and risk factors, and to strengthen programs for its treatment and control within the framework of plans related to chronic diseases, and the decision requested the establishment of regional networks for cooperation in this field.
