Keegan Bradley’s recalled what it was like to play a pickup basketball game with Tom Brady and Michael Jordan eight years ago, following his Travelers Championship win at TPC River Highlands in Connecticut.Â
Bradley, 37, was vacationing in the Bahamas in 2015 with fellow golfer Luke Donald when the pair met up with both US sports legends to shoot some hoops. The shoot around naturally grew into a more competitive affair between all four athletes, who didn’t hold back on talking smack on the outdoor court.
Bradley and Jordan know each other well due to their ties to the basketball star’s Jordan brand, which is produced by Nike. The golfer even wore Jordan-brand shoes during the Travelers Championship, probably to feel as great as His Airiness.
‘I said to Luke Donald, I was like, ”Let’s go shoot some hoops”,’ Bradley said, via The PGA Tour’s Twitter account. ‘And so MJ was like, ”Where are you going?” I’m like, ”Oh, we’re just going to go shoot a little hoops.” He goes, ”Oh OK, I’m not going to come.”Â
”’Alright, it’s fine.” Sure enough, we convinced him to come. He goes, ”Well I’m not going to bring my shoes.” And then he’s just kind of hanging, and then at one point, he looked at one of the guys that worked there, he goes, ”Go back and get my shoes.”Â

‘And so I was like, ”Ok, nice this is good. Now were talking,”’ quipped Bradley before adding that he was then assigned with one of the hardest tasks in sports.Â
‘I had to guard (Tom) Brady,’ he said. ‘And Brady was going so hard, like, too hard.’
Bradley, who’s an avid New England Sports fan, claimed that the seven-time Super Bowl champion was ‘elbowing me and like hitting me and like going up for rebounds’ but that he didn’t want to reciprocate playing hardball on the quarterback, fearing he’d injure him and dramatically decrease the Patriots’ chances of lifting another edition of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
‘I was like, ”Dude you’ve got to chill out,” said the world’s No. 18 in golf. ‘Because if I do come down and tear your ACL, I’m never going to be able to go home for Christmas ever again.’

‘Well, of course Michael Jordan texted me,’ Bradley said, ‘and that means a lot to me. He’s obviously my hero but one of my good friends.’Â
‘Timmy Wakefield, Boston Red Sox,’ he added. ‘Baba Booey from Howard Stern texted me. That was probably my favorite. I did a quick scan. I had two, three hundred texts and I saw that.’
Bradley also revealed that a certain New York Jets quarterback reached out to him too.Â
‘Aaron Rodgers,’ he said. ‘That meant a lot, even though he plays for the Jets now.’Â
