Promoting the creation of companies led by women is a reality, which is why Google launched the program to Startup Academy for Women Founders which has the purpose of providing tools and mentoring to startups in early stages.
Francisco Solsona, Google Developers Regional & Accelerator Lead SpLATAM explained that the program is 100% online and takes place over five days and includes topics of marketing, technical product training and leadershipas well as training on topics such as artificial intelligence and machine learning.
“We are 100% convinced that the future of the region is going to be in all these startups, in the quality work they are creating to grow their teams, product, in the economic and positive impact they are going to have in products that are friendlier to the ecosystem”.
He specified that the objective is not only to give them knowledge but bring them closer to the contact networkTherefore, in the five programs that have been carried out, 18 allies have been counted on, including the government, banks and investment funds, among others.
“If we think of these startups as an engine of innovation, the best thing we can do is invest in them from these very early stages, not only invest capital, but also our talent and knowledge.”
The program, which is part of the Google for Startups Accelerator, will take place from October 17 to 28 and the call is open until September 18.

To be part of the Startup Academy for Women Founders you can register online until September 18 and meet the following criteria.
- Have an early-stage technology-based startup (Pre-Seed – Seed) located in Latin America
- Have a product launched in the market with traction and revenue
- That the startup’s full-time founding team has at least one female or non-binary co-founder.
The program arose from an initiative by Google Developers in association with Women@Google, and today its purpose is to help women in Latin America whose businesses are in earlier stages of development than those addressed by the Google for Startup Accelerator.
