From January to October, the government reported a higher public spending exercise than had been contemplated for the period, according to updated data from the Ministry of Finance and Public Credit (SHCP).
The Public Finance and Public Debt Report to October showed that in the period, the government reported spending of 5 trillion 817,097 million pesos, an annual increase of 4.9 percent.
With these resources used, the government presented an expense greater than that approved in the period by 44,448 million pesos, which occurred mainly within the programmable expense.
On the side of programmable spending, the resources used were 4 trillion 318,122 million pesos, 3.6% more than a year ago and 43,059 million pesos higher than what was approved.
“Spending on social protection continued to accumulate record highs from January to October and was 9.6% higher in real terms than the amount registered in 2021,” said the Treasury.
On the side of non-programmable spending, the government allocated 898,814 million pesos, 7.3% more than a year ago, and 5,210 million pesos higher than expected.
