Mexico City, October 25, 2022.- In line with federal policies for the development and strengthening of the national education system, Governor Rubén Rocha Moya participated as a commentator in the cycle of talks “For an education with social justice”, organized by the National Commission for the Continuous Improvement of Education (Mejoredu), within the framework of the third anniversary of its creation, which was attended by Lucía Aimé Castillo Pastor, Secretary of Education of Tamaulipas, Homero Meneses Hernández, Secretary of Public Education of Tlaxcala and Gerardo Arturo Solís Benavides, Secretary of Education of Baja California, who presented their point of view on the subject ” Mejoraedu and the link with state educational authorities within the framework of the National System for the Continuous Improvement of Education “.
Moderated by Silvia Valle Tépatl, President Commissioner of the Board of Directors of Mejoraedu, the discussion allowed to draw an overview of how the application of educational products has generated significant improvements in each state and also to detect areas of opportunity.
Rocha Moya considered that in order to take full advantage of the work carried out by the Commission, it must be linked with the states and municipalities to assist them through joint participation in the preparation of study plans and programs, in the context of an adequate distribution of functions. , which is reflected in a better educational quality, emphasizing the importance that there is also legislative concurrence at the national level with the aim of standardizing the national education system.
“One thing that remains pending for me is whether Mejoraedu has really participated in the elaboration of the new study plans and programs. If it has not participated in them, then Mejoraedu has a void that it would have to fill. This is a central issue For this reason, I even have a certain idea that they have not worked, they have not taken advantage of the Ministry of Public Education, they have not taken advantage of Mejoraedu as they should have, despite the fact that they and we, all of us, were the builders of the reform. Of course, the President who is the one who sent the fundamental idea, to build an education above all humanistic, but also a scientific education, an education that is technically capable”, said the Governor.
Among the interventions, the Secretary of Education of Tamaulipas highlighted, who agreed that Mejoraedu must implement at the national level, in each of the states, the System of Continuous Training and Professional Development of Teachers, which conceives training as a process of long-term, which implies coordinated work with the states.
At the end of the act, Florentino Castro López, Commissioner of the Board of Directors of Mejoraedu, presented Governor Rocha Moya with an award for his participation in the discussion.
