(Trends Wide) — A woman who was shot by her grandson before it ended the lives of 21 people at a Texas elementary school has been released from the hospital.
University Health in San Antonio, Texas said a 66-year-old patient injured on the day of the May 24 shooting at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde has been released.
The only remaining patient from the shooting, a 10-year-old girl, has improved to fair condition, the hospital tweeted on Tuesday.
As previously reported by Trends Wide, the 66-year-old woman is the grandmother of the shooter, Salvador Ramos, 18.
The grandmother’s husband, Rolando Reyes, said his wife was shot in the face at their home. The attack on the woman came before her grandson headed to Robb Elementary School and killed 19 children and two teachers, according to authorities.
Reyes told Trends Wide last month that a bullet pierced his wife’s jaw and upper cheek, and she will need major reconstructive surgery at a San Antonio hospital.
