The feature documentary Going To The Dogs, directed by Greg Cruttwell, is scheduled for a cinema release on Friday, November 7.
Produced by Cruttwell’s company Park The Bus, the film offers a balanced examination of UK greyhound racing, delving into its cultural and community aspects as well as the lives of the dogs themselves. Featuring behind-the-scenes access, the documentary follows trainers Liz and Rab McNair with their 2023 Derby favourite, Fromposttopillar, and offers a glimpse into Kevin Hutton’s Burford training base.
The film explores greyhound racing’s place in the modern world by providing a platform for voices both for and against the sport.
“Park The Bus are delighted to be releasing our latest feature documentary, Going To The Dogs, which lifts the lid to look inside the controversial world of greyhound racing, a sport for the working classes, which for much of the 20th century was the second most popular in the UK,” Cruttwell said. “It takes an in-depth look at its history, how it works, the people within it, the issues surrounding it, and whether it has a future in the world we live in today.”
