Barcelona striker Antoine Griezmann expressed his anger and dissatisfaction after his team’s defeat by Athletic Bilbao (2-3) on Sunday evening in the Spanish Super Cup final.
Griezmann put Barcelona twice in the lead, but Bilbao equalized the score each time, and snatched the winning goal in the second overtime of the match, to crown the title for the third time in its history.
“I am angry and upset. All the bad feelings that can arise after losing a final match,” Griezmann told Movistar.
He added, “We were well aware that Marcelino’s team was pressing hard and playing great, but we made many impressive mistakes. I don’t know if we defended badly in the three goals.”
Griezmann, 29, indicated that he did not see the shot of his colleague Lionel Messi at the end of the match, and he does not know what happened.
