The Memphis Grizzlies have announced the list of twenty players who will participate in the training camp which will begin next Tuesday. A roster that the franchise has closed after terminating the contracts of Carsen Edwards and Daniel Oturu.
The guard was selected in the 33rd pick of the 2019 draft by the Philadelphia 76ers and later traded to the Celtics. In Boston he has completed his first two seasons as a professional, in which he has averaged 3.6 points and 9.2 minutes in a total of 68 games.
Edwards had landed in Memphis as part of the trade that sent Juancho Hernángomez to the Celtics. In that same operation, the Grizzlies received Kris Dunn, who, at least for now, will continue in the team. For its part, Oturu’s termination means the Grizzlies have moved the three players they acquired from the Los Angeles Clippers after shedding Rajon Rondo and trading Patrick Beverley to Minnesota.
Currently, the Grizzlies have 16 guaranteed contracts, so they have until October 18 to release another player and meet the established quota of 15 contracts. The Tennessee franchise also announced that it has converted the contract Exhibit 10 Yves Pons in a dual one, guaranteeing him a spot in the Development League.
