The initial schedule for Dillon Brooks’ recovery had been set between two and three weeks on October 12. However, this period has already ended and the player has not yet dressed in shorts, although his recovery is facing its final stretch.
This Wednesday, the Memphis Grizzlies assigned the player to the Development League Hustles to play a preparation duel, after which they claimed him again. The head coach Taylor Jenkins has shared that the coaching staff’s plan is to gradually increase Brooks’ activity by involving him in some other exhibition match.
“We are still catching up with him,” Jenkins said. “Obviously he has yet to regain his form and rhythm, but from a health point of view he is in a good position. We will have a new check-up this week to make sure everything is moving in the right direction. ” Thus, Brooks is expected to be at least one more week out.
Brooks has missed the first eight games of the Grizzlies season, more than in all of last season. Despite the delicate nature of his absence, the Tennessee team has managed to settle into fourth place in the Western Conference with a balance of five wins and three losses.
