Ajibo Kamara scored a goal in the second half to lead Guinea to beat Gambia with a clean goal in the third group of the African Cup of Nations, and maintain his country’s hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals of the continental tournament.
Coach Kaba Diawara’s team rose to second place in the group with 4 points, two points ahead of defending champion Senegal, which has already qualified for the quarter-finals, and three points ahead of third-placed Cameroon.
The Gambia national team remained at the bottom of the group standings without points.

Guinea dominated the first half completely, but without any significant threat to Gambia’s goal, but they opened the scoring in the 69th minute through Kamara, who received a cross pass from Morgan Guilavogi and put it into the net from
Close range.
Guinea will face Senegal in the final round of the group stage next Tuesday, while Gambia will meet Cameroon on the same day.
