(CNN) — Gwyneth Paltrow never says never to the prospect of her future in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The actress, who is also now a full-time businesswoman as head of lifestyle super brand Goop, spoke with her Marvel co-star Scarlett Johansson in a new episode of her podcast. The “Iron Man” and “Avengers” co-stars speculated about her possible future involvement in comic book movies during her chat.
While Johansson was adamant that she’s “finished” her run as Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, Paltrow wasn’t as definitive in her writing.
When Johansson asked the Oscar winner if she was “done with Marvel too,” Paltrow replied, “I think so!”
“I mean, I haven’t died, so I guess they can always ask me (to come back),” he continued.
When Johansson thought that Paltrow might return “at some point,” Paltrow exclaimed, “Really?”
“Like 64 year old Pepper Potts! That’s great,” she added jokingly. (Paltrow is 50 years old.)

Paltrow originated the role of Potts, the personal assistant turned love interest of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), in 2008’s “Iron Man,” which is the film that kicked off the Marvel Cinematic World.
Paltrow played the character in two more “Iron Man” films, as well as the subsequent “Avengers” film franchise, last playing Potts in 2019’s “Avengers: Endgame,” in which she said goodbye to Stark/ Hombre de Hierro.
Elsewhere in Paltrow’s chat with Johansson on the Goop podcast, the couple reflected on their past relationships. Paltrow wrongly said that Scarlett has been married twice.
Johansson corrected Paltrow, reminding her that she has been married three times, prompting the “Shakespeare in Love” star to comment that she forgot Johansson had married Ryan Reynolds.
“We love good old Ryan Reynolds in our house,” Paltrow commented, prompting Johansson to laugh and say, “He’s a good guy.”
Johansson and Reynolds were married from 2008 to 2011, before she married French journalist Romain Dauriac in 2014. The couple welcomed daughter Rose, now 8, before separating in 2017.
In 2020, Johansson married “Saturday Night Live” star Colin Jost, with whom she had a son Cosmo, who turns 2 in August.
