An Israeli newspaper revealed that sensitive military information is leaking due to the failure of the occupation army soldiers to adhere to instructions for using phones and smart watches.
In an investigation, Haaretz newspaper said that soldiers in the occupation army working in sensitive positions reveal their identities and locations, and that the Israeli army struggles to implement operational security rules.
On July 5, the occupation army announced the thwarting of what it said were repeated attempts by the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) to hack his soldiers' phones.
He explained that Hamas had created “a gaming application and fake accounts trying to convince soldiers to download the application that would completely control the phones.”
Hamas has confirmed over the past years that the “war of minds” is ongoing between the resistance and the occupation in the context of a full confrontation with it, and that it has proven its intelligence capabilities in confronting the occupation's security services.
In January 2017, the Israeli Intelligence and Military Intelligence Division admitted that Hamas had succeeded in eavesdropping on the communications of Israeli officers and soldiers, and considered this breach an extremely dangerous development.
Israeli reports at the time stated that Al-Qassam BrigadesHamas's military wing hacked the smartphones of Israeli officers and soldiers in the regular and reserve army, as well as officers in the field staff and the general staff, and was able to do so through fake social media accounts filled with pictures of beautiful girls.
Through these accounts, the hackers communicated with the soldiers and held lengthy conversations with them, after installing viruses that could control the phones of dozens of the targets, according to a statement by an Israeli military official.
